Safari Blue is a full day spent almost entirely on the water: a traditional wooden dhow sails you out from Fumba on the southwest coast to snorkel over coral reefs, drift through a mangrove channel, and stop at a sandbank for a barbecue seafood lunch cooked right on the boat.
It’s one of the most popular full-day excursions on the island, and for good reason — snorkelling, sailing, swimming and a genuinely great lunch all in one day. Hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere on the island are included, along with all snorkelling gear.
Hotel pickup anywhere in Zanzibar — Stone Town, Nungwi, Kendwa, Paje or elsewhere — included
Pickup between 8:00–8:30 AM, return to your hotel by approximately 5:30 PM
Expect a full day of sailing and swimming: a traditional dhow carries you out from Fumba across calm, sheltered water, with stops to snorkel over coral reef, drift through a mangrove channel spotting birdlife, and swim at a sandbank that appears and disappears with the tide. Lunch is a genuine highlight — a barbecue seafood spread cooked on the boat and served straight onto the sand, followed by fresh tropical fruit.
This is a relaxed, sociable day rather than a rushed itinerary, and it works well for both first-time visitors and repeat guests looking for a proper day on the water.
